Term "Hypertension" used to indicate a stable increase in blood pressure. This process is the most common complication of heart disease. Approximately one in ten adults encounters it. At the same time, this disease is the cause of many of the heart diseases. Hypertension, often imperceptibly, damages the heart and blood vessels. Its symptoms are often similar to those of heart disease. This disorder is manifested by the development of heart failure, angina pectoris, heart attack, stroke, renal failure, blindness.
An increase in blood pressure occurs in the presence of narrowing of the arteries and / or arterioles (smaller vessels). Initially, this may occur due to spasm, and later the lumen of the vessels due to thickening of the wall remains constantly narrowed. And in order for the blood flow to overcome the existing constrictions, the work of the heart is intensified and more blood is thrown into the bloodstream. In such situations, arterial hypertension develops.
Sometimes (in one in ten patients), the cause of high blood pressure is a disease of some organ. Then there is secondary (symptomatic) hypertension.

In the blood pressure is affected by many factors, so the value of variable blood pressure. Pressure is lower when you are at rest (sleeping or just lying). Physical activity, excitement, tend to lead to a temporary increase in pressure, and rest and relaxation bring him back to normal.
Thus, sometimes in a perfectly healthy person, blood pressure values can be increased.
How can hypertension be dangerous if it is not treated?
The higher the BP value, the more hard work the heart has to do in order to maintain normal blood circulation. If hypertension is not treated, the walls of the heart initially hypertrophy (thicken). This increases the risk of heart failure. Later, the walls of the heart become thinner. This entails a violation of the blood supply to the tissues and muscles of the heart. Shortness of breath, fatigue appears, edema develops on the legs. All of these can be signs of the development of heart failure, that is, a situation where the heart muscle is unable to perform its normal pumping function. The presence of high blood pressure values accelerates the development of the process of “atherosclerosis” (this means that fatty components are deposited on the walls of blood vessels (arteries and arterioles)), and this leads to their compaction, thickening and gradual narrowing of the vascular lumen.
When various arteries are damaged, various disorders develop in the work of organ systems:
- angina pectoris (angina pectoris);
- myocardial infarction (with blockage of the lumen of the arteries);
- with damage to the cerebral vessels, cerebral stroke may develop (with impaired motor capabilities, speech and memory);
- the risk of blindness, the development of renal failure and the appearance of "intermittent claudication" (with occlusion of the vessels of the eyes, narrowing of the vessels of the kidneys and arteries of the lower extremities) increases.
WRONG CONCEPTS ABOUT ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION
- With age, blood pressure rises.
- Course or episodic treatment of hypertension is beneficial.
- Variant of normal blood pressure - individual characteristics of a person and "working" blood pressure
- Treatment of hypertension based on blood pressure values alone (excluding risk factors, target organ damage, the presence of concomitant diseases).
- You can choose the drugs for treatment yourself.
- When using drug therapy, it is possible to abandon non-drug measures.
Let's note the factors that increase the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.
At the heart of IHD and Stroke is the damage to the arteries as a result of atherosclerosis. Therefore, the treatment of hypertension is aimed at getting rid of the influence of risk factors and at preventing the development of atherosclerosis.
There are risk factors that can be dealt with, they are acquired (otherwise they are called mutable). Others are congenital or acquired, but cannot be changed (they are called immutable).
To changing include:
- Smoking
- Overweight
- High blood cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Stress
- Sedentary lifestyle
- The presence of diabetes
Immutable:
- History of cardiovascular disease
- Male gender
- Menopause in women
Treatments for hypertension are generally similar to those for heart disease. At the same time, herbs are used that have a particularly pronounced effect on the central nervous system: valerian, calamus, skullcap, brahmi.
Features of the manifestation of hypertension (types) and treatment of hypertension
Manifestations of the type of hypertension Wadding (air) are inherently unstable, they are often accompanied by nervous disorders. Blood pressure suddenly rises and just as suddenly falls (especially if a person is overtired, after overstrain, anxiety, or insomnia). The pulse becomes irregular, changes in frequency and filling. Mainly tonic therapy is offered. Garlic is especially useful in such cases. The broth of nutmeg in milk significantly improves the state of health. In the Kiev center of fungotherapy, bioregulation and Ayurveda, treatment is carried out using drugs based on ashwagandha and usually takes a long time. A well-functioning compound is obtained from valerian, ashwagandha, and brahmi taken in equal parts. Mushroom preparations are also used (based on Shiitake, Veselka, Reishi).
Hypertension Pitt-type (fire) - the face turns red, the eyes are often inflamed, there are often headaches (severe), there are nosebleeds, photophobia, a burning sensation, such people are irritable and angry. A very similar condition often occurs with liver disorders, so proper methods are used to treat it. In the center of fungotherapy, bioregulation and Ayurveda, there are preparations based on medicinal mushrooms (Trutovik, Chanterelles, Shiitake), Ayurvedic herbal remedies (Triphala, Liv-Coeur, Livgud, Livomap, Sobereks, Brahma Rasayana). Especially useful is the bitterness (aloe, barberry and Katukov) and purification using bitter laxatives - senna, rhubarb, aloe. In such cases, a special intelligence means soothing - Brama (Brahma Rasayana, Gotu kola, and skullcap in equal parts).
RџSЂRё RіRёRїRμSЂS,RѕRЅRёRё Kapha-type (water), as a rule, obesity, fatigue, edema and high cholesterolemia are observed. The high blood pressure is stable. When using medications for treatment, you should minimize the consumption of dairy products, eggs and butter. Foods containing a large amount of fat are contraindicated. Red pepper, garlic, motherwort, myrrh and hawthorn fruits are considered especially useful in these cases, licorice root is contraindicated. In the Kiev center of fungotherapy, bioregulation and Ayurveda, the treatment programs use drugs based on Arjuna.
The level of blood pressure, to which one should strive, are the values: 130/85 mm Hg. Art .; for elderly patients - 140/90 mm Hg. Art .; for patients with diabetes mellitus - 130/85 mm Hg. Art.
