Brazilian agarika is a valuable medicinal mushroom, discovered relatively recently and for its medicinal properties was introduced into the elite of pharmaceutical mycology (fungoterapii).
It is known that in 1917 the mushroom was discovered by a naturalist biologist, American W.A. Murill, who named it his honor. Later, in 1965, two Americans, W. Jay Sinden of the University of Pennsylvania and Dr. E.D. Lambert of Lambert Laboratories noted the fact that in the Brazilian region near the city of São Paulo, where people often ate Brazilian agaric, cases of cancer and immune diseases are extremely rare... After the publication of their research report, ethnic Japanese biologist Ferumoto took samples of the mushroom and traveled to Japan with them. He showed the mushroom at the Iwade Institute of Mycology in Mie Prefecture (Iwaide Fungology Institute, founded by Dr. Inosuke Inwade, professor at Tokyo University and Mie University). For the first time in history, after much trial and error, spores were cultivated and grown from samples, followed by artificial cultivation of mushrooms.
This mushroom was called Piedade by the Brazilians themselves, after the area in which it was found. Other popular names: "Sun Mushroom" - a sun mushroom and Cogumelo do Sol, which translates from Portuguese as "Mushroom of God". In some countries, the mushroom has become known as the Royal Sun Agaricus (Royal Sun Agaricus). "Princess of the Mushrooms" is a translation of the word "Himematsutake", the Japanese name given by researchers at the Iwade Institute.
It was only in 1967 that Belgian scientist Dr. Heinemann accurately identified the mushroom by the scientific name Agaricus blazei Murill (ABM). The Iwade Institute of Mycology has become a pioneer in the study of Brazilian agaric in Japan. In 1970, Shoji Shibata, a professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Tokyo, and Dr. Ikegawa, a physician at the Japanese National Cancer Center, began to study Brazilian Agaric together. Together they presented the results to the Japan Pharmacological Association, the Japan Cancer Association and other organizations. Most of these studies were aimed at studying the antitumor properties of beta-glucans found in Brazilian agaric.
At the "39th Meeting of the Japan Academy of Cancer Control" held in 1980, this mushroom was first introduced by Professors Hitoshi Ito, Keishiro Shimura, and Sensuke Naruse, who are part of the mushroom research group at Mie University Graduate School of Medicine. Scientific articles were presented showing that β-glucan, found in Brazilian agarica, is an effective agent against malignant tumors of various organs. We can say that at this time, a wide study of the medicinal properties of the mushroom and the production of Agaric began in Japan and China. Currently, the Japanese and Chinese consume 90% of all Agaric produced.
There are many books, special television programs, Internet sites dedicated to the Brazilian agaric. One book, called Magic Food Against Cancer, has been reprinted 63 times. Since April 2002, the Coca-Cola Company has been producing drinks containing Brazilian Agaric in Japan and China.
Which diseases can be used Brazilian agarika?
- Treatment and prevention of cancer (malignant tumors);
- Treatment and prevention of benign tumors;
- The use as an adjunct to and after chemotherapy and radiation therapy;
- Treatment and prevention of liver damage of any nature: toxic hepatitis, viral hepatitis B, C, D, J, initial stages of cirrhosis, fatty degeneration, steatosis, etc .;
- Treatment of a weakened or compromised immunity;
What is the mechanism of action of Brazilian Agarika the treatment of cancer?
To date, there have Agarika Brazilian three proven anticancer mechanism. The first mechanism - The large number of Delta Beta glucans (-1,3-1,6 D-glucans) defines its main anti-tumor properties. Here, beta-glucans work at full capacity:
- accelerate the rate of maturation of lymphocytes;
- increase the life of lymphocytes;
- activate their antitumor functions;
As a result, activation of cells acquire the ability to actively detect and in case of detection - to destroy tumor cells.
The second mechanism found in medicinal mushrooms is rare (eg, still have Maitake) Is the ability to block the development of the tumor circulatory system. The fact is that a tumor cannot grow in size more than 2 mm if it does not receive nutrients from the blood. To do this, it secretes a substance - vascular growth factor, which forces the body to germinate the tumor with blood vessels, through which it receives all the necessary nutrition and gets rid of its metabolic products. These vessels are imperfect, often fail, but the tumor gets new ones in return. Agaric's substances (pyroglutamates and ergosterol) block the release of vascular growth factors by the tumor and, as a result, the gradual cessation of nutrition of the tumor and its subsequent "drying out".
The third mechanism lies in the fact that Agaric substances help antitumor lymphocytes - Macrophages, Cytotoxic T-lymphocytes and natural killers to penetrate into the tumor node and fight not only at the border of the tumor, but also inside. This mechanism dramatically improves the overall effectiveness of cancer therapy.
Agaric also contains steroids that directly affect carcinoma cells and inhibit tumor growth. Steroids derived from the Brazilian agaric have an antitumor effect, which is especially important for the prevention of cancer. These hormones should not be confused with steroids taken by athletes to improve the results. Provitamin D3, the precursor of vitamin D, does not itself have an anti-cancer effect. But research has revealed that a new synthetic steroid, biosynthesized from provitamin D3, also suppresses the spread of carcinoma cells. Even if the carcinoma cells began to form in the body, the tumor develops much more slowly. The Brazilian mushroom contains 3.6% of lipids, of which 26.8% is neutral lipids, and 73.2% is phospholipids. That is, most of the fungal lipids are phospholipids. The lipid can be decomposed into linolenic, palmitic, oleic and palmitoleic acids, each of which is active against cancer. Researchers from the University of Tokyo found that the Brazilian agaric contains essential fatty acid, linoleic. This acid is known for its antimutagenic properties. They also found antimicrobial substances in the agaric.
