Experts identify three main types of human responses to cosmetics:
- Ordinary contact dermatitis is the most common reaction to cosmetics that can occur with direct damage to aggressive skin substances. The primary manifestations of such a reaction are itching, peeling and redness of the skin, blisters and a rash may also appear. Such symptoms occur literally a couple of minutes after interacting with a cosmetic product. Ordinary contact dermatitis is not an allergic reaction, although it is very similar in appearance;
- Allergic contact dermatitis is an allergic reaction of a more serious type, this is, so to speak, the body's immune response to contact with an allergen. - Respiratory allergic reactions. The second name is "allergy to the smell of cosmetics." Such allergic reactions occur when inhaling vapors of deodorants, perfumes. The primary symptoms are sneezing, runny nose, irritation of the nasal mucosa, tearing, and redness of the eyes. You can also observe reactions of an asthmatic type, such as coughing, shortness of breath, asthma attacks. Note that such allergic reactions can occur not only in the person who uses the perfume, but also in the person who is nearby and inhales. Remember that you should not shower with perfumes from head to toe, so as not to cause an allergy in yourself or others.
